John Gormley served as a law enforcement officer for 20 years on the local and state level and a police trainer for 15 years. Currently, his practice is limited to bringing his experience and legal expertise to thousands of criminal defense attorneys in 29 states. Patrick Mahaney is an attorney in private practice in Montgomery, Alabama, concentrating his practice in defense of DUI, traffic violations and driver license issues. Patrick served twenty-two years as a state trooper with the Alabama Department of Public Safety, including assignments in uniform patrol, criminal investigations and as assistant legal counsel for the Department. Mr. Mahaney is the co-author of the treatise Alabama DUI, Traffic and Driver License Law Handbook, now in Third Edition printing, and has acquired over 30 years of law and law enforcement experience in DUI and traffic law. What Will The Attendee Learn?
 

The state has gone to great lengths to make ‘Motor Vehicle Stop’ cases a "slam- dunk" for the prosecution….At this workshop you will learn to attack the state's case using cross-examination questions that make you the "expert" and get answers that support the defense theory of the case. You will learn how to get the discovery material you need and use the current law to suppress or neutralize those facts that hurt your case. Although this seminar is specially designed for the “first-time” DUI defense case, it will provide the experienced practitioner with the current issues in DUI and driver license law and practice.
